Download Link Pc Overall, for this game's price it is worth the content you receive. The soundtrack is catchy, animation is cute, and gameplay simplistic. You can certainly waste some free time on this game.. Carrie's Order Up! is a fun little mashup of Diner Dash and something akin to Pac-Man. There is enough complexity to keep you going for a couple of hours, if you really get into it. My excitement was really high during early play of this one, but dropped off pretty quickly. It's good, and definately worth the small asking price. But, unless you are driven by score chasing, there isn't much more after that.Essentially, this plays like a pizza parlor arcade game where you try to serve customers and earn money. The floor layouts change. You have a 'spin' maneuver where you can ghost through customers. There is nuance, which is appreciated.Pros:+Cheap, fun and fairly detailed for an arcade game+Original enough+Controller support is goodCons:-Storyline/storyboards are strange and I could do without them-Not really that much meat on the bone here; I got my fill after about an hour-Could do with more content overall, namely persistant upgradesIf you find yourself intrigued by pizza parlor arcade games, give this a shot.. Not gonna lie, took a bit of a gamble with this purchase even tho it was only 4 dollars, whilst it looked fun, part of me was worried it was just a more retro approach to dinner dash, and ♥♥♥♥ was I glad I was wrong, whilst Diner Dash is obviously part of this game's "recipie" (to concide with the theme I'll talk like a chef just for giggles), there is a LOT more to Carrie (I'll just call this game Carrie for short) as a fan of indie games and passion projects as well as quite a conossuier for arcade games, I was and am VERY PLEASEDCarrie is a lot of things, but it makes a good "meal" when its all mixed together, and here's what your left with as a gamer/customer, Let's start with positivesMore to the table than I intially thought-At it's heart, Carrie's takes the speed of Dinner Dash and the and the physical moving and delivering objectives (within the game of course) of Dinner Dash, the Pattern Recognition and Recognizing Movements elemnt of Burger Time, and the difficulty and risk vs reward of Root Beer Tapper/Tapper. And here's howCustomers are a double edged sword, you obviously need to seve them and in turn get to your money goal, but unlike Dinner Dash, you don't seat them, they seat themselves, and you also never stay still, as this game in a VERY SMALL but innovative way implements the "runner" element of an endless runner, and you have to realize each customers movement patterns and speeds in order to avoid bumping them and losing a life, Sharks take longer to pick a table, while rabbits hop between the spaces between tables, this can be compared to Burger Time's patterns of Mr Hot Dog, Mr Pickle, or Mr Egg, this also makes the game a TAD like Pac Man or Mouse Trap, only you have to make things up as you go and can't "stop to think" if no one's ghosts (in this case customers) are aroundThe Tapper/Root Beer Tapper Elements come into play with choosing what to do based on what's going on and also the game tries to tempt you. How? Carrie can only carry either food or dirty plates, NOT BOTH and only one plate type at a time, and while dirty dishes are required to obviously clear tables, other than space, they are for bonus points for cleaning as well as to enlarge a bonus at the end of each round which multiplies points based on clean dishes. The other thing you may get distracted by are bonus coins customers can drop for extra money/points, but don't let them distract youThe biggest element of Tapper implemented though is diffuclty, which I like, there's one way to win and many ways to die, that being via either a customer leaving, tripping from spinning too much (which is a mechanic to serve multiple customers at once IF you are facing the direction they are (i.e. to the left, right, up or down) or you bump into them, Bonus points because the art style reminds me of a mash up of Mappy, Genesis era Sonic games, and Popcap gamesLastly, the one thing this game has that I very much enjoy is REPLAY value, aside from obviously being able to pick up and play the game for maybe a half hour to an hour at a time, the very small element of rogue lites in the form of your scores from previous games adding up eventually leveling you up (Akin to something like Beat Hazard for example) unlocks new modes and more cosmetics among other things About my only complaints I have is there is no online (either online vs via 1v1 or online leaderboards would be nice at least) no local multiplayer, and no campaign (i.e. work at different restraunts as you progress and therefore unlock both new upgrades and hazzards, also akin to Dinner Dash, I would hope that and the soundtrack gets added via updates or DLCBut to conclude this review, this game has passion project written all over it and you can tell the game makers weren't aiming for this to be the next big thing, but that's ok, execution is what matters in game design, not the intial vision itself or the size of the projet (as an indie game designer myself working on his first project, I know this quite well) It's all about execution of your vision and passion that drives your design to leave your mark as a gamer and to other gamers. This game shows the game developers clearly werre going for just that, and at only 4 dollars, I can't reccomend this game enough, its quick arcade mindless fun, that takes little bits of what many know and love (i.e. the games listed beforehand) and mashes them all into it's own unique concotion, and that makes me smileQuite literally, it seems as though Carrie is selling like hot cakes (:. Pure bliss, what a great twist on the Pac-Man formula. A really charming look and sound and the gameplay is really morish, making you want to come back for a quick go every so often or dig in to a full run. It's simple and short but isnt padded out beyond what is needed and I appreciate that. One of my favorite hidden gems on Steam.. Hook the player quickly.Live within your means. Make the core mechanics feel tight and fair. Present information in a format that feels organic and fun. Ensure that the challenge is scalable. The player becomes invested. They're compelled to see the characters succeed.Carrie’s Order Up does all of these things. And it’s cute as F***.. The graphics are clean and emulate that SNES feel very well. Even factoring in the issues in terms of gameplay variety and the sound quality for voice acting, it's a still well worth $2.99 USD.I would only urge you not get this game if you hate cute games, as this certainly qualifies!. This game's a fun little dose of arcade-y dodging and serving action. The game ramps up in difficulty really smoothly, and extra tricks are thrown in on later levels to keep things interesting. Controls are fairly responsive, though not quite as lenient with regards to timing on turns as something like Pac-Man; you might miss a turn occasionally if you change directions right at the turn. If you like fast-paced reflex games like Pac-Man or time management games like Diner Dash, you'll find something to enjoy here. There's not a ton of content in the main game to play through, but challenges and unlockable goodies, as well as endless mode leaderboards, provide some incentive to keep playing, and there's certainly enough to do for the modest price. Also the crabs are cuties. Funny little game! well worth it the price tag, it's fun and challenging when it needs to and about the art workBEAUTIFUL! I'm completely in love with this game's art! characters designs are cute and cartoony, and the pixel art adds to the charm (also, the background is not tiring at all)music is calm and nice, i don't think the OST is catchy but is not bad in any way, i like it!well then! now lets eat some Sea Food!(Doing fanart of this Soon!). As a matter of fact my buddy and I have done a gameplay video of this. I would say it was a review but we don't go over the mechnics of the game. Just a really nice way to see what the game & gameplay is like!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OeIOhy1dfq4Although this is a very fun Arcade game! Similar to the old "Mr. Do!" the arcade Carrie has to deliever food to customers. But the extra kick is once you start moving, you can't stop ;D. +Addictive+Pretty+Good Control+Great Music+Cute as all hell+More than enough value for the priceI have nothing negative to say about this game. Just freaking buy it already!
